Sneaky Pete Pool Cues
Most pool players have their favorite cue when playing the game. Not all cues are created equal though. Sometimes pool hustlers like to use a sneaky pete pool cue. What this actually means is that they want their pool stick to appear as a house cue when it is actually a personalized cue to earn some winnings the sneaky way.
Sneaky pete pool cues have been around for a good while now, and are common with mstly serious pool players. There are plenty of name brand pool cue makers that custom build the sneaky pete, and will allow you to add some special custom settings to it if you ask.
Unlike the house cue the sneaky pete usually is a 2 piece cue. That means you can screw the 2 parts of the cue together in private as you would a professional cue.
While the sneaky pete is not usually kosher for someone to use publicly, they are mainly created for a pool shark that wants to play a tricky game. Probably the best model out there is the Predator Sneaky Pete which is pretty expensive, but well worth the money.
Balabushka Pool Cues
One of the best things about pool is the fact that a cue can make all the difference in the world. Balabushka Pool Cues are among the most sought after in the world for their precision and value. The creator and engineer behind the stick is the man with the same name, George Balabushka. He is known for his woodcrafting in the billiards industry and has been around for a long time.
For many years the Balabushka Pool Cue was spoken of mainly amongst those who were big collectors, but was once again made famous from the movie “The Color of Money” where Tom Cruise asks a pool hustler is he is using a Balabushka.
Since most of the original cues are very rare and expensive you can still purchase replicas which are certified and endorsed by the Balabushka family. The crafter no longer makes them as he passed away back in 1975, but not long ago in 2004 he was indicted into the BCA Hall of Fame.
Whenever you get a chance to see someone use a Balabushka, take notice because you may never see one in action again.
